Fire alarm went off again in the building this AM. Pulling me out of bed. Rolled down the stairs drearily to disarm the alarm. A diesel engine erupted going past the house sending a billowing fart of smoke in through the front door and up the stairs. Tripping the smoke detectors. It stinks of fuel oil burnt.
The door was open because the chap who is hired as a janitor was standing smoking fags at the front door when he should have been hoovering the commons. Him, hiding behind his glasses and tash.
I told him I was glad to see him as there was a beer can sitting in the lobby for over a month. Handed it to him. More like three months. Showed him how recycling works. How to tidy dirt. Patronised him just a little bit because the place is filthy and he knows it so he can't talk back.
