The cold summer wind burns the postman's eyes so that he puts his prescription eye-wear on at last as protection. I watch the top of his head with its hat to observe whether he does actually read the address on the envelopes he's pushing through our mail slot. He pulls a bale of post from his sack, rips off the elastic and stuffs it all, in bulk, through the letterbox, stuffing the elastic in after it. If it's on the same street, he shoves it in. If it's not, he shoves it in the door anyway and blames a nameless computing entity. He just delivers by the bundle. Snatching the handlebars of his bike, he lights down the road grumbling to himself. Mail shot, another day done.

Oops, there goes another fire on another semi-State-holiday-camp-company school bus in Meath. Just dropped the kids off at the school. Ticking over, she was, when the gasket blew. Smoke came pouring out. Panicked passers-by called in the brigade. A burnt out shell was all that was left by the time they arrived. Nobody will ever lose their job although at this rate there'll be dead bodies piled high.

AUCTIONEER: Selling a house is not like buying coffee. It's very, very important. It's about relationships and outcomes. That's why we're doubling our fees today.

Tidy blonde with briefcase. The look is hot. Lots of them about the hotel. And that's just the men.
